Zambo City gears for PRISAA 2018

Around 134 athletes from different schools will represent Zamboanga City in the 2018 National Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) meet on April 22 to 27 at the Carlos P. Garcia Sports Complex in Tagbilaran, Bohol.

PRISAA National Executive Director Elbert Atilano said in an interview that the athletes who will compete in the upcoming meet are those who won in last year's PRISAA and during the Batang Pinoy recently.

"Zamboanga City delegates, both from the youth and senior division will compete in (team sports catergory) baseball, basketball,volleyball, beach voleyball, football, sepak takraw and softball. They will also compete in (individual sports) athletics, badminton, boxing, chess, dance sports, karate-do, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis and weightlifting, and in (academic and cultural) Oratorical, vocal solo and duet, and the Mutya ng PRISAA competition," Atilano said.

An estimated 7,000 student-athletes and coaches from 18 different regions in the country is expected to join the national PRISAA meet. (Kikay Dongallo)
