RPOC Mindanao cluster meets in Zambo

Zamboanga City will host of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Mindanao cluster meeting today, April 12 to be presided by Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año.

In attendance will be all RPOC chairpersons in Mindanao to include Mayor Beng Climaco, who is the RPOC-9 chair, Gov. Mujib Hataman of ARMM, Gov. Esmael Mangudadatu of Maguindanao, Gov. Angel Amante-Matba of Agusan del Norte, Gov. Tyrone Uy of Compostela Valley and Mayor Oscar Moreno of Cagayan de Oro and their vice chairpersons who are the Police directors in their respective regions.

Año, who is the National Peace and Order Council chairperson has been doing the rounds of the different regions in Mindanao for the holding of the RPOC Mindanao Cluster meetings.

Also expected to attend the meeting set to start from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. will be the Division Commanders of the four Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Divisions in Mindanao under the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) and the Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom).

Top agenda of the meeting will be the prevailing security situation in Mindanao, vis a vis the different campaigns against illegal drugs, terrorism and the rebel groups.

Mayor Climaco, during the first part of the meeting will present to Wesmincom Chief LTGen. Carlito Galvez Jr., a resolution adopting the latter as adopted son of Zamboanga City.

Last time, the RPOC-Mindanao Cluster meeting was held in Marbel City. (Sheila Covarrubias/PR)
