A seventeen-year-old young lady was allegedly abducted by unidentified suspects onboard a van-type vehicle along P. Lorenzo Street, downtown Zamboanga City, Saturday.

The victim, Pilar (not her true name), 17, of Barangay Tetuan, averred to the police that she was abducted by an unidentified woman with undetermined number of accomplices at around 5:00in the afternoon of Saturday.

Pilanga said that she was walking along P. Lorenzo Street when a woman alighted from a van-type vehicle and conversed with her claiming that she is her mother. Then someone from behind covered her nose and mouth with a piece of cloth causing her to fall asleep.

Pilanga added that when she woke-up, shewas already inside a room with a woman whose face was covered with a cloth. The woman allegedly approached and once again told her that she is her mother, and that the girl’s father took her away from her.

The victim alleged that she got a chance to escape and ran towards the highway where she met two unidentified men who allegedly assisted her to board a public utility jeepney (PUJ) towards the city proper.

According to her, she alighted at a fast food chain along Apolinario, Barangay Guiwan, then proceeded to Police Station 6 to seek help.

The police said that the victim managed to send a text message to her sister saying, “ate na kidnap ako, hindi ko alam kung saan magpunta. Tulungan mo ako te.”

PO2 Marichu Alviar, investigator-on-case, interviewed Pilanga but she cannot identify the place where she was taken neither the persons who abducted her.

The father said that the victim has not seen her biological mother since her childhood days.

The victim was turned over to her family while the case is still pending investigation. (Eugene A. Lasprilla)
