The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) has started its water rationing scheme Friday last week in some barangays, due to the continuous decline of water production in the Dumalon Water System Service Area.

ZCWD PIO Edgar Baños disclosed that the rotational service of water schedule will affect the water lines of barangays Capisan, San Roque and Malagutay.

Baños said, from Dulian, Capisan to Corote Malagutay will have water on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

From Corote Malagutay to Malagutay Gate 2, residents will have water on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday starting 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

He added that from 5:00 p.m.to 5:00 a.m., there will be no water in the said areas.

From Corote Malagutay to Sabina Loon Subdivision and Pasay San Roque, residents will have water supply on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 in the morning. From 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., there will be no water, while from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., they will experience low water pressure.

Baños continued that the Dulian-Pasonanca line will have water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at crossing Dulian, Capisan to DENR Lantawan. From DENR Lantawan to Carmen Valley-Km7 to Upper Pasonanca, there will be water from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. There will be no water from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m., Baños said.

DENR Lantawan to Busay Pasonanca will have water starting 7 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. From 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., low water pressure will be experienced.

Baños said once the water supply will normalize, the rationing will automatically be lifted.

At present Prime Water is also affected because the water supply in the Pamucutan River has also dwindled due to the summer season. (Ely Fernando)
