A worker of a fishing company was stabbed and wounded by his co-worker in Bagong Dalan, Barangay Talon-Talon, Zamboanga City on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Permo Virillo y Bensing, 42, married, a worker of Nancy Fishing Corporation, and a resident of the same place.

Virillo suffered three stab wounds at the back of his body and was rushed to Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) where he is presently admitted for further medication.

The suspect was identified as Jaime Trigo y Malinao, 36, married, also a laborer and a resident of the same place.

Initial police investigation shows that a certain Richard Roa and his son, Reynand, were having an altercation in their house when the suspect passed by and interfered in the verbal tussle.

Police said that Reynand pushed Trigo and the two engaged in a verbal argument. Upon seeing this, the father helped his son along with Permo to maul Trigo.

The suspect then rushed home, grabbed a knife, then returned to the area and stabbed Permo.

The victim managed to grab the weapon and retaliated by stabbing the suspect on his arms. They were both rushed to ZCMC.

SPO1 Arnulfo Acosta, investigator-on-case, is still conducting a deeper investigation on the incident. (Eugene A. Lasprilla)
