Mayor Beng Climaco called on the young people of Zamboanga to make a difference for Zamboanga City as the future leaders of the city and the nation.

In her message during a voters’ education campaign, dubbed the Bagong SK forum on Friday, May 11, Climaco tasked the young people to make good on their potential in service to their communities and their families.

“You hold in your hands the future of our country. And I would like to count on you as Zamboangueños Christians, Muslims, and Lumads, to make a difference,” she declared.

The chief executive also led the participants to make their personal oaths to love Zamboanga City, and to value their dignity.

“Your dignity can never be bought by money and as young people, always remember that. I can only tell this to you, but you have to act on it,” Climaco emphasized.

The Simulan Natin Ang Bagong SK was organized by the National Youth Commission to serve as a voters’ education campaign for the youth sector in line with the upcoming barangay and SK elections on Monday, May 14.

Some 300 youth participants from district 1 and district 2 barangays joined the voters’ education forum. (Jasmine Mohammadsali/PR)
