Police net 2 drug pushers, soldier during drug buy-bust operation

An alleged drug pusher and his companion, including a soldier, were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the combined police and military intelligence operatives and personnel of Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) led by Supt. Edilberto Alvarez at Pagkasilasa Drive, Barangay Talon-Talon, this city on Monday.

Report showed that a certain Ced Aztshar Munir y Sintaan alias Sid, 30, single, a native of Siasi, Sulu Province but currently residing in Talon-Talon and Alkhalid Munir y Ammad, 23, married, of Logoy Grande, Talon-Talon were held after selling alleged illegal drugs to a police poseur-buyer.

Police said that Ced sold a small sachet of alleged shabu worth P500 to a police pusher operative while Alkhalid yielded a color black purse containing 3 large sachets of suspected shabu and the P500 mark money bill.

Both suspected drug pushers were brought to Central Police Station (Police Station 11) for investigation and detention.

PO2 Alexander Delos Reyes, investigator-on-case, has  readied a case for violation of R.A. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, against the apprehended drug pushers.

Further reports revealed that a certain Sergeant Alshied Ahmad Jamlud, 48, married, a member of the Philippine Army assigned with the 97th Infantry Battalion based in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur (ZDS) Province and a native of Jolo, Sulu has also been seen in the said area which prompted the police to also apprehend him for questioning.

A report received by Zamboanga Today disclosed that the soldier was carrying a a Colt M1991 A1 Caliber .45 Pistol with serial number 2783765 with magazine loaded with 6 live ammunitions. During the investigation the soldier, however, failed to present any documents authorizing him to possess and carry the said handgun.

PO3 Had-Anuar Edding, investigator-on-case, will forward a case for violation of R.A. 10591, known as the Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act of 2013, at the City Prosecutor’s Office against the soldier. (Eugene A. Lasprilla)
