PDAU Zambo extends help to Bacolod’s PWD

PDFPrintE-mail

The Persons with Disabilities Affairs Unit (PDAU) of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in Zamboanga City has extended its services to Anthony M. Barrios, a Person with Disabilities (PWDs) from Bacolod City, through the unconditional efforts of Rose Ann C. Suarrez, PDAU Unit head.

Barrios showed up at the PDAU through one of the local media outfits to locate his family in this city. However, it did not go successful. Before the closing of office hours, Barrios expressed to go back to his hometown in Bacolod City.

Due to the limited time, Suarrez decided to ask help from the DSWD IX Balik Probinsya Programs and Services through referral but the PDAU Team shocked to note through the DSWD’s online assessment that Barrios had already availed  the programs and services at the DSWD – Ilocos last May 28, which can only be availed by a PWDonce after six (6) months.

Barrios requested the PDAU Team to bring him to the Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) Divisoria in this city in which the team decided to talk to the Ceres Bus Co. Manager by phone as the bus liner has its office in Bacolod City, and that the bus was to depart few minutes in time to let Barrios ride to Bacolod City for free.

Suarrez said that her efforts are not as enough as it was a great challenge for her but she can’t do it without the help of City Social Welfare and Development Officer Socorro A. Rojas and Dr. Leonida T. Bayan, Assistant City Social Welfare And Development Officer, and the entire working force in this case, especially the Ceres Bus Co.-(Henry Salac/PR)
