Rep. Lobregat administers Oath of newly elected barangay officials


Adhering to the request of many newly elected barangay officials, Congressman Celso Lobregat yesterday administered their Oath of Office during a simple ceremony in his residence in Nuñez.

Elected barangay officials of six barangays personally requested Congressman Lobregat to administer their oath-taking before they will officially sit down in their respective positions in the barangay council by June 30..

As an elected Congressman, and provided by law, Lobregat can administer the oath of elected barangay officials. In fact, Lobregat had conferred it with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

“Ya pidi comigo el oficiales del cuantos barangay si pwde ba daw yo man administer el diila Oath of Office, como congresista, I am also an administering officer, I asked also DILG so pwde daw, poreso taqui sila aura ta jura emfente comigo,” Lobregat said.

Newly elected barangay officials of Cacao, Bolong, Culianan, Sta. Catalina, Zone II and Zone IV flocked to the solon’s residence yesterday morning for the said oath-taking ceremonies.

“El quien ya pidi comigo como administering officer, I am just complying their wish mientras ta man tupahan de amon schedule,” Lobregat said.

Congressman Lobregat also conveyed his utmost congratulations to all the newly elected and re-elected barangay officials of the city’s 98 barangays asking them to work together for the progress and development of Zamboanga City.

He said that election is over and it’s time for village leaders to buckle down to work for the benefit of the constituents of their respective barangays. – Dexter Yap
