City Tourism Officer, Sarita Sebastian Hernandez yesterday reminded taxi drivers to observe proper hygiene to avoid embarrassing complaints from the riding public.

This after a student passenger complained that the driver of the taxi she rode allegedly had a smelly armpit.

Sebastian said, before the operation of the taxis in the city, their office conducted a seminar for the drivers and operators of the Asia’s Latin Taxi Service Cooperative (ALTSCOOP) on their personal hygiene.

“It was part of the module during the roundtable discussion. Sabe se sila. Debe usa gayot sila deodorant masquin tawas. Hinde tamen sila debe come adentro del taxi para hinde tene olor adentro cay aircondition se,” Sebastian explained.

She also advised taxi drivers to refrain from smoking inside their vehicle as this is a violation of the anti-smoking ordinance.

ALTSCOOP president Jerson Monteverde said the unnamed taxi driver had already been reprimanded as he promised to abide by the rules.

“Minor lang man ese problema pero si tiene reclamo debe came corecta,” Monteverde said. SS
