Traffic violations continue to increase

The number of vehicles plying the streets of Zamboanga City continues to increase so does the number of violations to Traffic Ordinance 248, according to the City Administrator’s Office.

Assistant City Administrator Cesar Raz reported at Monday’s press briefing that for the month of June, the traffic enforcement resulted in the apprehension of 359 violators of different city ordinances, the bulk of which was on traffic with 355 violators.

The revenue collected from those violations marked 23.4% increase compared to the same period last year.

At least 3,727 driver’s licenses were confiscated, of which 2,366 have already been claimed by the owners.

The Force Ordinance netted 1,365 violators of different ordinances, while the Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) registered 82% increase in the number of passengers.-(vtl)
