Puericulture kicks off 101st Anniversary with Love Drive

The Zamboanga Puericulture Center No. 144 visited the Social Development Center in Sta. Barbara last week and distributed slippers, clothes, food and other goodies. Dr. Rodelin M. Agbulos, ZPC President, said that these items were donated by the employees and staff from various ZPC departments, the parents and teachers of the Zamboanga Puericulture School and other donors.

In an interview with Grace Trinidad Gregorio, Center Head, she expressed the gratitude of the staff especially the children who benefitted from the love drive. She thanked Dr. Agbulos for always supporting the center from the time he was the City Health Officer and even after retirement.

The Social Development Center operates under the City Social Welfare and Development and serves as a temporary residential facility for disadvantaged children ages 7 to 17. The government provides a child-friendly environment with free food and medicines. However, donations are very much appreciated. These donations may be in the form of laundry powder, bath soaps, slippers, clothing including underwear and child-friendly toys. Their contact numbers are 062-9902834 or +639157435544.

The Zamboanga Puericulture Center No. 144 is busy gearing up for its 101st Anniversary next month with the theme “Championing Mother and Child Care in the next 100 years.” In line with this celebration, exciting events are scheduled for the entire month of October.

A Concert for a Cause is scheduled on October 19 at the LM Metro Hotel Convention Hall at 7 p.m. Live for Love, an evening with Nonoy Zuñiga will benefit the Center's Indigent Program.

Field Demonstrations by the pupils of the Zamboanga Puericulture School will be the highlights on October 24 and 25. Finally, the Zamboanga Puericulture Lying-In Maternity Hospital resident doctors in cooperation with the medical team of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) will conduct a medical mission on October 26 from 8 a.m. onwards. A Thanksgiving Mass will also be held in the morning followed by a Press Conference. The 101stAnniversary will be accentuated by a beautiful Gala Night with a Red and Black formal dress theme.
