For the next two weeks, people will get to enjoy streets foods, goods at discounted prices with live band performances at the famed R.T. Lim Boulevard, as the city celebrates Zamboanga Hermosa Festival 2018.

All these are part of the City Government-initiated Smoke Out Grilled Food Fiesta, Grand Midnight Sale and Travelling Merchants’ Bazaar which formally opened Saturday, September 29, as a prelude to the Hermosa festival Opening Salvo set Monday, October 1.

It will run until October 13 and will be open from 5pm to 12 midnight.

Mayor Beng Climaco spearheaded the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon and declared the activity open. She was assisted by Police Regional Director PCSupt. Emmanuel Licup, OIC City Police Director PSSupt. Joseph Martir, Task Force Zamboanga Chief Col. Leonel Nicolas and Councilor Jimmy Villaflores.

The Smoke Out Grilled Food Fiesta features some 80 food stalls selling street foods and mouthwatering cuisines while the Grand Midnight Sale as well as the Travelling Merchants’ Bazaar showcases variety of merchandise and goods at discounted prices with over 60 concessionaires participating.

Local bands and signers will provide live performances nightly.

Traffic at R.T. Lim Boulevard is rerouted for the duration of the Smoke Out event, pursuant to Executive Order 412 issued by the mayor. Another EO, also restricts the parking of motorcycles and four-wheeled vehicles as well as the bringing of backpacks and wearing of bull caps and hooded jackets at the R.T.
