One dead in motorcycle, car collision

A motorist was pronounced dead in a local hospital after his motorcycle collided with a car along MCLL Highway in Barangay Tetuan, Zamboanga City, yesterday dawn.

The fatality was identified as Jessie Juan y Alejandro, 34, of Lower Cabatangan, Barangay Cabatangan, driver of the SYM motorcycle bearing temporary plate number 0901-0324501.

Police report disclosed that the victim hit the hood of the Toyota Wigo color black with plate number JCT 6265, driven by Bienvenido Domen y Tolentino, 57, married, a teacher and a resident of Valley Subdivision, Barangay Divisoria.

The victim was reportedly thrown towards the concrete pavement of the road causing severe injuries.

He was brought to West Metro Medical Center (WMMC) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police added that the driver of the car tested positive to a liquor test.

Domen is now detained at Police Station 6.

Police report shows that while Domen was on his way home from a wake, he passed along Governor Camins Avenue towards Tetuan Highway when he accidentally collided with the motorcycle allegedly travelling in top gear to the city proper.

A case for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide was readied by PO1 Rica Felizarta, investigator-on-case, against the car driver. (Eugene A. Lasprilla)
